New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo holds his daily press conference on the Covid-19 outbreak, which has infected more than 223,691 people across the state, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. New York and other East Coast states are extending their shutdown of nonessential businesses to May 15 as officials grapple with how to reopen parts of the economy without leading to a resurgence in coronavirus cases, Cuomo said Thursday.

  1. The Earth
Gave us the Coronavirus because it saw who this country put Him into office and was like ok humans I’ve had enough of your b.s.

  2. “Unity makes Strength”
Democrat or Republican we are all USA citizens. Lying tRump Rat has our country divided and corrupt. 4,500 USA citizens covid19 deaths in 24 hours on 4-17-2020.
I stopped watching tRump covid19 task force meetings “tRump rallies”. It is full of disinformation and chaos.

  3. I work in a hospital lab. Our biggest public hospitals in New Mexico threw out "private sector" labs and built their own large not-for-profit reference lab. Who knew poor, backwards New Mexico could get it right? Our state DOH, wildly understaffed and supplied, knew they could call the largest laboratory consortium in the state and work together to get it done. Very proud. But we are still poor, still fighting, especially for our sister nation: our Navajo Nation citizens. I just suggest some state governors look at our model and reimagine how state and non-state run labs can form effective coalitions.

  4. These briefings are a Master Class on leadership and this one was great. At 55:55, it got down right entertaining. I live in Virginia and watch this every day. I hope Andrew Cuomo stays involved in this national crisis even after NY recovers from this crisis. The country needs his leadership.

And he takes no BS, even from Trump. I'm not sure Trump criticizing someone with an 87% approval rating is the move he wants to make here. Of course, Trump rarely makes the right move. Let's review how Trump made the right moves:

    • “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.” CNBC interview Jan 22

    • “Looks like by April, you know, in theory, when it gets a little warmer, it miraculously goes away.” New Hampshire rally 2/10

    • “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. … Stock Market starting to look very good to me!” Twitter Feb. 24

    • “It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.” News conference News conference, Feb. 27

    • “The Fake News Media and their partner, the Democrat Party, is doing everything within its semi-considerable power … to inflame the CoronaVirus situation.” Twitter March 9

    • “We’re prepared, and we’re doing a great job with it. And it will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away.” March 10 Meeting with Republican senators

    • “This is a very contagious virus. It’s incredible. But it’s something that we have tremendous control over.” March 15 News conference

  5. i dont think he is even preparing for a speech, he is not trying to trick you with polished numbers or constantly telling people how awesome he is… he just seems honest, gives you the raw numbers, tells you what that means no matter if good or bad, even throws in some very personal things he maybe shouldnt… I am not a US citizen so no opinion here on whats wrong or right, and i am absolutely sure a united america really can do anything. I just never saw a politician like this, please clone him and distribute cuomos all around the world 😁

  6. I live in Paris where we have very similar curves, have or had the same problems with PPE, respirators, tests or nursing homes. And same talks about reopening.
Thanks Mr Cuomo for this honest situational and strategic update on our common problem. Best i've heard so far.

If ever you finish the job before we do, we have some very good fishing spots just East of your position. You are welcome !

  7. Citizens, “just because we may have crest this one hill, we may have not see the mountain behind” in words just because you see the numbers decline, dosnt mean it’s gone for good. If we’re to froggy and jump to soon, it could all happen again. We all still need to maintain the safe mentality when we enter the work force again.

  8. Grew up in Suffolk County, and starting at around 0:55:00, that's the kind of beat down I can really appreciate, artistically speaking.

  9. Very impressed with his conferences, but particularly this one tonight…this is what a president should sound like, Thank you Gov Cuomo from Wisconsin.

  10. This man is a class act!!! I can't help but laugh in thinking that Trump will watch this and hear nothing but insult and then lash back with another bunch of babble.

  11. fellow democrats, how do you think cuomo handled the situation other than the inspirational speeches and legendary quotes by special figures? i trust him generally, but i want to get into the nitty gritty. new yorkers went through a lot of things and i feel like a lot of things have been looked over? like how are nursing homes being handled, unemployment, testing (we ramped it up A LOT, but people still had a hard time getting one after it was ramped up? is that correct?), poor/uninformed neighborhoods/projects, illegal immigrants, businesses, childcare, etc. i'm not an expert in politics and government so anyone care to give an informed opinion all u smart people? oh! and how ARE all of you guys handling this? are you able to get by or are u fearing the worst rn? stay safe everyone <3
